Present:
President Rob Tidrow called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. The board reviewed the meeting minutes dated May 17, 2012. Dudley Fetzer motioned acceptance of the minutes, noting a correction. Gary Arndts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Mrs. Holman presented the financial statement for review, noting no exceptional expenses or income. David Burton motioned approval of the financial report, as presented. Bill Pendley seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Executive Director's Report:
Jane Holman delivered the Executive Director's Report. She reminded everyone to invite his or her FaceBook friends to "like" Waynet. She mentioned our membership is nearing the $30,000 mark.
Waynet recently received two requests for fee-waiver: 1) Townsend Food and 2) Seton Catholic. Jenie Lahman motioned approval of the Townsend Food fee-waiver application at the level of associate membership. Gary Arndts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The board discussed the membership request of Seton Catholic Schools, and Mrs. Holman pointed out she did not receive a 501(c)3 income statement from them. After a discussion, the board agreed to wait for further information before considering the Seton fee waiver request.
Mrs. Holman updated on board appointments, stating Jodi Johnson will be leaving the board, after 14+ years of service. Beth Fields and Gary Arndts are up for reappointment, and are willing to serve another term. Both Tim Love and Pam Merchanthouse will be up for reappointment, and Mrs. Holman is hoping they are both willing to serve another term. Mrs. Lahman is Board President elect, with Mr. Tidrow will serve as Vice-President and Treasurer.
The Olde North Chapel and the Hagerstown Museum and Art Place have been added as new members. County Connections continues to air on WCTV, with last month's guest being Scott Gregory, with Jim Cox and Steve Martin scheduled as upcoming guests.
Mrs. Holman is working on the Waynet online application form, and also on issues with spam in relationship to the form. She was recently told by Reid Hospital representatives that Waynet is the most comprehensive website to find and research local information for our area.
Mrs. Holman noted that she is using Adobe Light Room, and this is her personal software license that she is using on her Waynet computer. She plans to include photo developing and editing software in next years' budget.
The September meeting will be the Annual Meeting. Being no further business, Jodi Johnson motioned to adjourn. Randy Baker seconded. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Beth Fields, Recording Secretary
