02 October 2006 The Pennsylvania Railroad Station is the focal point of the "Hoosier Bowery" district in Richmond.   It was designed in the office of Daniel Burnham, a famous architect from Chicago.  Mr. Burnham's firm is famous for designing The Rookery building in Chicago and The Flatiron Building in New York.  It is in the process of being restored by Doc & Debbie Keys of White River Architectural Salvage & Antiques. 04 September 2006 This historic log cabin, now located on the grounds of the Wayne County Historical Museum, was renovated in 2006, thanks to multiple grants.  It was originally located south of North A Street in the block between Fort Wayne Avenue and North Third Street. 30 May 2006 Murray Theatre was built in 1909 as a vaudeville house. Its stage saw many famous acts, including Jack Benny, George Burns, famous big bands, etc. It has been the home to the performances of Richmond Civic Theatre (founded in 1941) since 1952 and was purchased by Richmond Civic Theatre, Inc. as its permanent home in 1964. During the 20 years Levi Coffin lived in Newport (now Fountain City), Indiana, he helped more than 2,000 slaves escaped to freedom via the Underground Railroad.  This home became known as the "Grand Central Station" of the Underground Railroad.
