President Jenie Lahmann called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon in the Richmond Art Museum, and thanked Shaun Dingwerth for the use of the beautiful facility. Mr. Dingwerth said a few words and explained the Art Museum is the oldest cultural institution in Wayne County, recently celebrating their 177th anniversary. Mr. Dingwerth is only the sixth director in the history of the museum. The have $30M in art collections, offer 280 programs, activities and celebrations. They recently were awarded a $50,000 Our Town Grant, and hold Taste of the Arts classes on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, at IU East's Room 912 in downtown Richmond.
Approval of the July 15th meeting minutes were postponed to the November 19th meeting.
The slate of nominees was presented for the 2015-2017 term. Tim Love motioned acceptance of the slate of nominees, seconded by Lynn Knight and the nominations were closed. Next, the slate of officers was presented: President – Pam Merchanthouse; Vice-President/Treasurer – Brad Glover; and Secretary – Aubrey Blue. David Burton motioned acceptance of the slate of officers, seconded by Randy Baker and the nominations were closed and the officers were unanimously elected. Jenie Lahmann "passed the gavel" to President Pam Merchanthouse.
Mrs. Holman reviewed the balance sheet, and said we lost one member but have received revenue from selling a picture. She has been busy changing all links to Reid Health, due to their recent name change and has also submitted the annual report to the Secretary of State.
Also, she reminded of the many festivals and activities this time of the year and she will photograph and enter into the calendar.
Mrs. Holman mentioned a few technical issues – had to uninstall and update in order to fix a sound driver problem and the city building lost internet connection Sept 8-16th, so worked from the library or home during that time.
Lynn Knight motioned approval of the director's report, seconded by Tim Love and the motion passed unanimously.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 19, 2015, location to be determined.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:45 PM.
