Waynet Annual Meeting Present, Waynet Executive Board:
Business Meeting Agenda: President Hardie presented an overview of the past year… listing past accomplishments and looked ahead to the upcoming year. He also said the board should further evaluate WayNet as to funding and web site design. Executive Director Holman highlighted activities of the past year. This being the 5th anniversary of WayNet, she said it's been an exciting period. She thanked those who had the foresight to form WayNet… especially paying tribute to Pam Frantz, who died this past year. She had been with WayNet from its inception. The slate of board nominees were presented for the term of 2002 to 2004. They were Chris Harde, Summersault, LLC; Bill O'Hara Felker, WHON/WQLK; Amy Spears, City of Richmond; Larry Turner, First Bank Richmond; Misty Hollis, Wayne County Government; and Nancy Wilson, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services. Bill Pendley (Potter's Wheel Bed & Breakfast) was presented to fill the unexpired term (2001 to 2003) of the late Pam Frantz. The slate of officers for the term of 2002 to 2003 was presented: President, Chris Harde; E. Thomas Kemp, Vice President/Treasurer; and Bill O'Hara Felker, Secretary. By unanimous consent all were approved. There being no new business, the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m. Following the business meeting, the Annual Best Web Site Awards were presented. The program for the evening was provided by Ray Ontko, President of Ray Ontko & Company and Nick Fankhauser, Chief Technology Officer. Their presentation was about their new web service, Doxpop. They explained the need for the service and challenges they met in getting it onboard. Doxpop provides web-based access to county court case tracking information, recorded documents and property tax information. The service is used by professionals, primarily attorneys who need information from local government services. They demonstrated their service by showing how one might use it. The evening ended with 21 persons who attended enjoying apple cider, cookies and a piece of WayNet's 5th Anniversary Chocolate Cake. The next board meeting will be Thursday, October 24th, 2002 at noon at Richmond Power and Light. Respectfully submitted, Bill O'Hara Felker
