Adult Day Care of Richmond

Adult Day Care is a program for individuals 18 years and older who have social, physical, mental, or emotional limitations and who require assistance and supervision in daily living. All participants must be under the care of a physician.

Lifestream is your one-stop Aging and Disability resource. We can help with a variety of services and can guide you through the steps it takes to get you the help you and your family need.

Nutrition Program

Hot meals are served on a daily basis at 11:30 a.m. in the dining area of the Richmond Senior Community Center and other area senior centers. Donations are based on your monthly income. Seniors are asked to call 24 hours in advance to reserve a meal. Meals can also be delivered daily to the homebound for those who qualify. You must be referred by Lifestream for the homebound meal program. Lifestream can be reached at 765.759.1121.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Richmond/Wayne County is a senior powered program that provides exciting and fulfilling volunteer opportunities for Seniors that are 55 years and older. We encourage all seniors that are volunteering or seeking volunteer opportunities, to contact the R.S.V.P. office to match skills that will better impact the community.

Widowed Persons Services (WPS)

Provides one-to-one support for all widowed persons regardless of age, sex, race or economic background.  We train widowed volunteers to be available to support newly bereaved persons. These dedicated volunteers help with the process of healing following the death of one's spouse.

Support groups are led by a retired registered nurse who has been widowed approximately 20 years, and are held quarterly. Call 765.983.7307 for next class time & location. Numerous educational and social programs are also held. Call for information or to be placed on the mailing list for our monthly newsletter.

The first county seat in Wayne County was located in Salisbury, a town that no longer exists. The county seat was moved to Centerville in 1818 and finally to Richmond in 1873.
