Board Meeting Minutes - May 20, 2021

Present:

  • Lynn Knight, Secretary (Community Member)
  • Richard Peterson (Porter Advertising, LLC)
  • Tim Love (Reid Health)
  • Gillis King (3 Rivers)
  • Jane Holman (Executive Director, WayNet.org, Ex-Officio)

Absent:

  • Dakota Collins (Earlham College)

Call to Order:

President Jenie Lahmann called the meeting to order at 12:04 p.m.

Introduced new board nominee Gillis King, from 3 Rivers. He was recommended by Robin Henry. Gillis works at 3 Rivers and has recently moved to consumer underwriter department. Gillis shared that he has lived in Richmond since 4th grade.

Each member then introduced themselves to Gillis sharing some information about themselves.

Old Business

Reviewed Minutes from the last meeting: March 18, 2021

Call for motion to approve by: Richard Peterson. Seconded by: Tim Love and approved by Board.

New Business:

Call for Vote:

Call for vote to approve Gillis King as new board member.

Motion to approve by: Bridget Hazelbaker, seconded by: Richard Peterson and approved by Board.

Balance Sheet Review

Reviewed Balance Sheet. Jane reported year to date, $5,992.07 in income, expenses $5,240.55 with standing balance of $7,896.55 as of April reporting.

Call for motion to approve by: Bridget Hazelbaker, Seconded by: Gillis King and approved by Board.

Cashflow Projection

Went over the statement and discussed outstanding memberships.

Projected Net cash receipts: $24,785. Projected Total Cash Disbursement: $19,346.

Director's Report

Updated changes and additional membership fees. We are down $240 membership income for this time period.

Updates Since Last Meeting

Twitter: 2,420 followers.
Facebook: 2,055 "likes"
Flickr: 218 to 3,042 views
Instagram: 195 posts, 664 followers

Discussed Issues and Projects for March/April/May

  • Followed with Wayne County Foundation on picture usage issues
  • New member set up for Always Relevant Digital
  • Research issues with Dropbox
  • More calendar of events added
  • New keyboard ordered and received
  • Worked on with news releases
  • Received several non Waynet related voice messages
  • Quickbooks crashing, troubleshooting took some time.
  • Review census data. 2021 data for local areas not released yet.
  • Corresponded with HGTV on photo usage, when they come to town to film a show, Grand Old Houses.
