Advertising/Marketing/Community Relations

Ad placed in the Progress insert of the Palladium-Item during the last week of April.
Distributed postcards at Morrisson-Reeves Library and the City Building.

Issues & Projects for March/April/May

Research and create acceptable policy for photo usage contract.
Meet with John Zetzel of Gillman & Zetzel to discuss possible move to 501(C)(3).
Invite Hagerstown teacher, Dan Diercks, to join Flickr Wayne County group.
Completed Form 990 Tax form for Waynet, Inc.
Met with Marketing Committee.
- Created 3 postcard designs. Two ordered, last one ready to order.
- Created database of local businesses and organizations that have web sites but are not current members.
Computer maintenance:
- $ 22.94 - Research and purchase PC-Cillin anti-virus software for new computer.
Website Maintenance:
- Removed "Treasurer" section from home page and inserted "Trivia" section. This is set up with a "random" file so does not need to be changed on a weekly basis.
- Set goal of eventually posting photos of all area "National Register of Historic Places" landmarks to Flickr. These photos are also added to other groups, which helps promote Wayne County. I also include a link back to WayNet.org, which should help our standing in search engines.
- Review and update page links & calendar events, as necessary. Take photos.

Log Analysis
These figures were created by the AWStats program offered online by our web host.

Monthly figures are now being posted on the Top Twenty page. Due to an anomaly in usage of the back end of the Talk of the Town program, our current average is 60,744 user sessions per month. Web page views (hits) are averaging 144,751. Users popped up 86% in March and then dropped 23% in April - giving us an averaged increase of 31.5%. Page views increased by 54% in March then decreasing 18% in April. I'm monitoring this issue and checking regularly for updated version of the Discus software.

1st Quarter 2006 - Quarterly figures for user sessions increased by 45% over 4th Quarter. Page views increased by 14%. User sessions increased by 59% over the same time period last year.

2005 Yearly Figures show a 14% increase to 463,839 users requesting 1,419,408 pages as compared to 407,300 users requesting 1,157,890 pages in 2004. This is a 14% increase in users and a 23% increase in page views over 2004.
