Issues
& Projects for March/April/May
-
Continue taking photos of art that has been identified for the
"Encyclopedia of Wayne County" project. Photoshop work has been
done on those photos. Still need to take photos at three more
institutions. Shaun Dingwerth has turned text for 3 of the 10 identified
artists.
-
Wrote letter of support for the Gaar Mansion in regards to a grant that
Sarah Bradley is applying for. Gave Sarah the latest log report to
include with the grant application.
-
Created a new graphic that could be placed on the new
EDC web site that links back
to WayNet.org.
-
Created design and had new letterhead & envelopes printed. ($321.00)
-
Managing email continues to be a large part of my morning. With
the recent influx of new viruses, I am receiving 300-500 messages daily
- most spam. Some are sorted via filters but due to our visitor
base, I cannot assume a message with no subject is spam - they must be
looked reviewed.
-
Met with Robin Henry to discuss possible fund-raiser using WayNet's
photos, which she is very enamored with. Idea: Offer
wallpaper and/or screensavers of photos as part of "Membership
Benefits"?
-
Completed IRS Form 990 and mailed prior to May 15.
-
Meet with Tax Status Committee.
- Website
Maintenance:
- Review and
update page links & calendar events, as necessary. Take
photos.
-
Create new business
page, Marketing &
Advertising.
Log Analysis
Ran weekly and posted on the Members Only
page. Monthly figures are now being posted on the
Top Twenty page. We are currently averaging
39,239 user sessions per month.
Web page views (hits) are averaging 113,160.
Users were down
9% in April with a
16%
decrease in page
views, and a 36% decrease from April of 2003. I
am at a loss to explain the downturn and have involved Chris Hardie and
Randy Baker in the issue. There may be some discrepancy in the way
the
logs are maintained between the two different servers or we may be
experiencing unreported downtime. Exploration of this issue will
continue.
4th Quarter 2003
- Quarterly figures for user sessions increased by
8%. Page views
increased by 14%. User sessions rose by
40% over the same time period last year.
2003 Yearly Figures
show an outstanding 548,741 users requesting 1,605,683 pages as
compared to 413,253 users requesting 1,291,024 pages in 2002. This is
a 33% increase in users and a
24% increase in page views over 2002.
