Applied for and received new domain name: www.waynet.org. Both this and www.waynet.wayne.in.us will take you to the same place. No additonal updated in necessary on my part. Sent out press release & phoned Bill Engle. He doesn't think it is "news". May give a small space.
Changed ad in the Pal-Item - will run 1 col x 2" on Sundays and small 1 col x 1" on Wednesday one week and Tuesday the next.
Working with Paust to produce visitor flyer - $680.00 for 10,000 - see sample. - I would appreciate help in getting these brochures distributed to various businesses around the county. Any volunteers?
Signed agreement for Yellow Pages extended listing - 5/8" 3+ line listing - $45.00/month starting October - billed in monthly phone bill.
Worked out agreement with WFMG/WHON to run 15 -30 second ads during drive-time.
They will match with another 15 so we will receive 30 total.
These ads will be run twice on WFMG on the following days - June 23,24, 26, 30, July 2, 6,
8, 10, 14, 16, 20, 22, 24, 28, 30. Pam Fultz will be setting arrangments to have me on her
extended news program. Does anyone on the board want to participate?
Received "plug" in the article on Joshua Brown and the West Richmond Friends web page in the Palladium-Item on June 20, 1998.
Log Analysis
Ran weekly and posted on the Members Only
page. Currently we are running over 2,500 users per month and 7,500 hits to the
entire site. Weekly averages are 600 visitors and 1,800 hits.
June Achievements
Made presentations before the Chamber of Commerce Board, the Neighborhood Services Clearinghouse Board, and the manager at the Alcoa Federal Credit Union.
Webmaster Forum titled Webmaster Basics was well attended - 8 members!
Attened Information Technology meeting at IU East - met several managers.
Changed the Sponsoring Member page, reduced the size of the logos to fit more on the page, load quicker.
Spoke with Larry Turner of First Bank Richmond and Ross Josephson of Sanyo-Verbatim - both are interested in participating on the Waynet board.
Added a PICS tag to the site to allow general surfing by those who have their IE "safe content" turned on.
Geo. S. Olive completed application for Tax-Exempt status. It was signed & sent in with a $500 check on 6/19/98. Mark Kassens at Olive says to expect a 4-6 week turn around.
Received links from two "highpoint" sites and several Jazz pages. Also posted site address on Midwest Living interactive site. Added our new URL to several search engines and changed the title of our home page to hopefully increase our hits for Richmond, Indiana.
Camera was loaned to the Richmond/Wayne County Tourism Bureau.
