LET THE FALL FESTIVAL
EVENTS BEGIN
This weekend kicks off a busy season of fall festivals. This weekend
in Wayne County....
**FRIDAY**:
ROOF TOP RENDEZVOUS:
Enjoy live jazz music performed by the Carol Lou
Woodward Quartet, featuring Frank Devito & Chuck Parr. Food, drinks &
dancing on the roof of the Uptown Richmond Parking Garage.
Tickets $20 in advance, $25 day of.
LECTURE:
Stretch your mind by listening to Parker Palmer of the
Newlin Center for Quaker Thought and Practice presents "Let Your Life
Speak: Education, Vocation and the Needs of the World" at Goddard
Auditorium, Carpenter Hall, Earlham College, Richmond, 7:30 p.m.

CONTRA DANCE:
No prior experience is necessary to join in the Contra Dance every first and
third Friday at Charlie's Coffee Bar at 416 North 10th St.
in Richmond.
**SATURDAY**:
FARMER'S MARKET:
Purchase fresh, locally grown produce at the Richmond Farmer's Market. 7:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m., just west of the old depot at North Eighth
and E Streets in Richmond.
JAM FEST:
The First Bank Stage will come alive at the corner of 8th and Main St.
on Saturday, September 6 with the following:

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Super Jam Band – Frank Devito, Randy Baker,
& Chuck Parr

7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Maple Knoll Big Band
FAMILY FUN FEST...GOES JAZZ:
Families will be jazzin’ it up at the South 10th Street Park on
Saturday, September 6 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. FREE!
Some of the highlights of
this year’s FREE Family Fun Fest include:
The only official #10 Johnny Benson Pontiac Grand Prix NASCAR,
Valvoline Racing Simulator, helmet giveaway sponsored by Craig,
Kelley, Faultless and Reid Hospital (while supplies last!) frisbee art,
large blow up amusements and activities for all ages,
a special “Kids Zone” full of activities for little ones age 6 & under,
a variety of musical entertainment, dance groups and performances
taking place continuously throughout the day.
ARTRAGEOUS RICHMOND:
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
600 & 700 Blocks of East Main Street
Main Street between 6th and 7th streets will be filled with booths
showcasing the works of local and regional artists.
**SUNDAY**:
CANAL DAYS IN CAMBRIDGE CITY:
Crafters ~ Art Exhibits (local artisians) ~ Kids Alley (Games, Rides,
Contests) ~ Antique Car & Tractor Shows ~ Golf Tournament ~ 5K Run ~
Civil War Encampment ~ Delicious Food ~ Entertainment (Elvis,

CONCERT:
Wayne County native and world-renowned jazz drummer Jeff Hamilton
culminates the JAM Fest weekend with an exciting concert at Civic
Hall Performing Arts Center, 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Sepetember 7th.
