District Pinewood Derby on Saturday, April 15th at the
Richmond Square Mall. Weigh-in will begin at 12:00 noon and the races start
at 1:30 p.m.
MAPLE SUGAR TIME
It's maple sugaring weather! The Cope Environmental Center will have a
Maple Sugaring demonstration from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th. This
event will show the steps in making maple syrup from selecting the trees to
the finished product. Learn how the Native Americans boiled down the tree
sap into a tasty sweetener that was widely used until the late 1800's, when
white sugar became less expensive to use as a sweetener. All the maple syrup
used in the world is produced during late February to early March. Join them
in a fascinating and historical hike. This event takes place outside so
dress for the weather.
Fee: $5 for non-members &
$3 for members. For more information, contact
Stephanie Hays at 765.855:3188 or visit their web site at
