When Centerville was platted in 1814, the original streets were 100 feet
wide. With the increased activity in town when it became the
county seat in 1818, the width was decreased to 65 feet. Buildings with
common walls were erected in front of original buildings. These original
buildings could then be reached through the archways. |

Thousands of motorcyclists gathered in Richmond, Indiana
on a rainy Saturday, 4-9-11, to escort I-beams from the fallen World Trade Center
towers to Indianapolis where they will be used to create a memorial.

In memory of the forty-one persons who lost their lives
in the tragic downtown explosion April 6, 1968 and with everlasting
gratitude to those who helped give rebirth to the city. This memorial is
located at the corner of Main and 5th in Richmond, Indiana,
approximately one block west of the epicenter of the disaster. |

by the Indianapolis Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America - June

Weller - given by her family." |

The six Overbeck Sisters who lived and worked in Cambridge City, Indiana
produced a wide variety of art objects between 1911 and 1955.
While well-known for their pottery, they also produced figurines,
paintings, drawings, photography and woodcarvings. The Cambridge
City Library has an outstanding collection of Overbeck art. |

building, once known as the Kelly, Emmons and Reid Block, was originally
a five-unit limestone town house. It was designed by John A.
Hasecoster. It was partially demolished in the 1970s to create a parking

is on the move! The process of moving books, historical artifacts
and exhibits for the Overbeck
Museum has begun. The new library, a beautiful renovation of a
former car dealership, is located at 600 West Main Street in Cambridge
City, Indiana. A grand opening celebration is planned for Sunday, March
20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. |

The Whitewater Gorge Park
encompasses a variety of unique features, including geology and history
as well as a wide variety of recreational opportunities. A paved
trail traverses the length of the gorge from South 1st Street to Test
