Tiernan Center - Richmond High School

According to Wikipedia, Richmond High School's gymnasium is the 4th largest high school gym in the United States. It has a capacity of 8,100. The facility was named the "Tiernan Center" in honor of long-time RHS educator, Richard "Dick" Tiernan. It opened in 1985.

The first high school orchestra in the nation was established at Morton High School in Richmond, Indiana in 1899 by Joseph Edgar Maddy.
