Board Meeting Minutes - May 16, 2013

Present:

  • Dudley Fetzer (First Bank Richmond)
  • David Burton (Burton & Simkin)
  • Beth Fields (Wayne County Government)
  • Gary Arndts (Blue Raptor)
  • Aubrey Blue (Cope Envoronmental Center)
  • Bill Pendley (Potter's Wheel Bed & Breakfast)
  • Jane Holman (Executive Director, WayNet.org, Ex-Officio)

Call to Order:

President Jenie Lahmann called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. in the Richmond Power and Light Auditorium.

Old Business:

The March 21, 2013, minutes were reviewed. Dudley Fetzer motioned acceptance of the minutes and David Burton seconded the motion. It passed unanimously.

New Business:

There was a brief discussion of the income and expenses on the balance sheet. David Burton made a motion to approve the balance sheet and it was seconded by Rob Tidrow. All were in favor.

Discussion was held regarding establishing a general listserve for the community. Jane Holman expressed interest in working on this project. A motion was made by Bill Pendley and seconded by Beth Fields to approve this research project. All were in favor.

Jane Holman advised we have a new sponsor, State Farm. 500 people have now "liked" us on Facebook. Those in attendance loved the postcards for Wayne County Challenge.

A lengthy discussion was held regarding the different possibilities for creating ONE community calendar. There are several different software options available. Jane will call a meeting with several influential people to brainstorm. There was a consensus of those present to move forward on this research project.

Adjourment:

Being no further business, Jenie Lahmann asked for a motion to adjourn. Rob Tidrow made the motion and Gary Arndts seconded. All approved and the meeting was adjourned at 12:53 p.m.
