This year's drought has caused difficulty for area farmers who need straw for bedding and hay to feed their animals.

Earlham College was the finish line for more than 1,000 RAIN Ride participants who comleted their one day, 160 mile bike ride across the state of Indiana, from Terre Haute to Richmond. Representatives  from the Commission on Presidential Debates found the community cooperation and hospitality remarkable during their visit here on July 18th as they reviewed Richmond's bid to host the 2008 debates.
