The Lauramore Friends Home was built in 1860 by Thomas and Mary Thistlewaite Birdsall.  Mary was an early women's rights advocate. Wayne County pioneers foresaw a better future when they migrated to this county in 1805.  Conestoga Wagon at the Wayne County Historical Museum.
