LogoRichmond to Submit Bid to be a Site for 2008 Presidential Debate
Richmond is on the road to the White House....nearly literally, since the
National <http://www.route40.net/history/national-road.shtml> Road leads to
Baltimore, just north of Washington D.C. Officials with the Economic
Development Corporation <http://www.edcwc.com> of Wayne County hope to also
make it an important political location for the 2008 election by applying to
be a site for the Presidential or Vice-Presidential debates. Read the
following stories to learn more about the process and what it means to the

Phantoscope Film Festival Premier
This is your chance to possibly see the first film of the next Steven
Spielberg! See the best creative productions of Indiana/Ohio high school
students who are competing for the top prize in the first annual Phantoscope
Film <http://www.richmondartmuseum.org/phantoscope/> Festival. The public
is invited to participate in the panel discussion with professional film
makers at 6:00 p.m. and then watch the premier of the top films beginning at
7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24th in McGuire Hall at the Richmond Art
Museum.

In case you're wondering...
A phantoscope was an early type of motion picture projector, invented by
Richmond native C. Frances
<http://www.mrlinfo.org/history/biography/jenkinscf.htm> Jenkins. The first
motion picture screening EVER used a phantoscope, and was held in Richmond,
Indiana, in 1894.

f.a.d.e. IN Film Series On Thursday, March 29th, enjoy The Triplets of
Belleville (2003) on the big screen in McGuire Hall at the Richmond Art
Museum, part of the Richmond Art Museum's fade-IN Film Series (Focusing on
Art, Diversity, and Education - Indiana.) Sure it's in French but with very
little dialog, great animation, a touching/exciting story, and one of the
best canine roles ever, you'll think you speak the language. Don't miss
Bruno the dog!
