Singin' Sam, the Barbasol Man, (Harry Frankel) was the highest paid radio performer in his time. He was a Richmond, Indiana native and retired to Richmond before his death at the age of 60 on June 12, 1948.

	It's nearly time for Lemonade Day!  Parents, children, and supporters are invited to the Lemonade Day Kick-Off at the Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, March 20th from 9 to 11:30 am to get their questions answered.

March 14-20th is Indiana Severe Preparedness Week.  There will be a statewide test tornado drill on Wednesday, March 17th between 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with a second drill between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Now is a great time to review your weather safety plan with your family or colleagues.



Volunteer fire departments thrive in the many small communities of Wayne County, Indiana.  They serve to protect their neighbors in times of disaster, but also often provide important fund raising and social gathering opportunities for the communities. (Click for larger view.)
